Ductility of Bituminous Materials

Measuring the flexibility of a bituminous material involves determining the distance it can elongate before breaking. This is achieved by pulling apart the two ends of a briquette specimen of the material at a specified speed and temperature. By default, the test is conducted at a temperature of 77 ± 0.9°F (25 ± 0.5°C) and a speed of 5 cm/min ± 5.0%. However, the speed should be explicitly stated if the test is performed at different temperatures.

LT/DU-73000/M

The manual ductilometer is comprised of the following components:
• The structure is constructed entirely from stainless steel.
• The front panel features manual controls for carriage movement, a main switch, and a temperature thermoregulator.
• The internal bath is made of stainless steel and has rounded edges for easy cleaning.
• It includes an atmospheric drainage system with a stopcock.
• Low voltage circulating pumps ensure uniformity in the bath temperature, and stainless steel immersion heaters are also present.
• The carriage head has three places with a brake, and there is a pointer to facilitate identifying the breaking point.
• A 1500 mm ruler with a 1mm resolution is provided.
• Power Supply: The manual ductilometer can be powered by either 220 Vac or 115 Vac, and it is compatible with both 50 Hz and 60 Hz frequencies.

LT/DU-73000-R/M

The refrigerated manual ductilometer is constructed with the following features:
• The structure is entirely made of stainless steel.
• The front panel includes manual controls for carriage movement, a main switch, and a temperature thermoregulator.
• The refrigeration system uses a motor compressor free of CFC gas, allowing test temperatures up to +5°C.
• The internal bath is made of stainless steel and has round edges for easy cleaning.
• It includes an atmospheric drainage system with a stopcock.
• The ductilometer and stainless steel immersion heaters are equipped with low-voltage circulating pumps to ensure uniformity in the bath temperature.
• The carriage head has three places and is equipped with a brake and a pointer to identify the breakpoint.
• It comes with a 1500 mm ruler with a resolution of 1mm.
• The frame cover has a full-length inspection window with anti-overturn security features.
• The power supply options are 220 or 115 Vac, compatible with 50 Hz and 60 Hz frequencies.
